In the following virtual exhibition we would like to present an insight into six different ‘highlights’ from Hamburg’s Jewish past.

Nevertheless, we have no intention of giving a comprehensive overview on the history of the Jews in Hamburg, nor portraying a series of systematically chosen images of the former Jewish life in the city.

The range of topics displayed in this exhibition is based on mostly heretofore unknown authentic photographs. Although coincidental discovery of these findings was the decisive factor, all of them were recorded after thorough research. Therefore, it is not surprising that the pictures in each ‘highlight’ vary in number and size.
