November 1938: The synagogue was heavily damaged
January 1939: The only synagogue in whole Germany to be restored after Kristallnacht
February, 1939: Rabbi Carlebach’s first festive sermon in the restored Dammtor synagogue
1943: The Dammtor synagogue is bombarded
1895: The synagogue was established in two joint apartments
November 1938: The synagogue was overlooked during the destruction in Kristallnacht
March 1939: Rabbi Carlebach initiated the transport of the synagogue’s equipment to Sweden. The synagogue furniture was smashed in Hamburg’s port and later repaired in Sweden.


1942: The Heinrich Barth synagogue is now functioning as the “New Jeshurun Synagogue” in Stockholm
